About the Desperado Gay and Lesbian Film Festival

Our Goal: Education

The Desperado Gay and Lesbian Film Festival is a spectacular showcase of film making from the best in the industry. Come join us in our inaugural year as we feature films that run the cultural gamut of our community. We hope that in providing the Phoenix LGBT population as well as the students of Maricopa County's Community Colleges, an understanding of diversity and multiculturalism will take stronger root in the Valley of the Sun.

In addition, with proceeds from this event, P.R.I.D.E. will establish the PVCC Rainbows Scholarship. Providing access to education is critical to the success of our youth. Paradise Valley Community College excels in leadership building, educational support, and career opportunities. Opening these possibilities for Phoenix LGBT youth is our goal.

Lastly, giving an opportunity to gay and lesbian students to view films that reflect their culture as well as be part of the process of creating an exciting event like this, will empower and strengthen their character. This is a great leadership opportunity for the GLBT students of Paradise Valley Community College's P.R.I.D.E. organization.
